Aadhaar which is called as unique identification number is issued by UIDAI that is for individuals for the use of establishing unique identification of each single person. Aadhaar has a 12-digit number and it is not a card, it is a unique for each individual who apply or enroll to get their Aadhaar number. The regulatory body for this is unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
What is the Purpose of Aadhaar Card
Aadhaar is meant for individuals of any aged which also includes children for the real purpose of establishing identities. Aadhaar will be different for the entire family member since, it is for only individuals. The demographic details that are residence address information of the person and also their bio-metric information which is photograph, Iris – scan, fingerprints are all collected and stored in a centralized database, for deciding uniqueness of every individual.

Every individual will get only one Aadhaar number and will get only one Aadhaar number and will not get so many unique ID numbers. Aadhaar number need not be changed or renewed from time to time as it will be valid for the entire life of any individual Aadhaar number can be get every person at free of cost.
The Aadhaar number can be used in various places like opening a bank account, while applying for passport, booking e-tickets and also in various many other places where the identity is needed to show. Aadhaar number is used to describe whom you are at an easiest way, which is used for your identity.
